Employee Spotlight: Lisa Raff, PharmD, MSPharm, BCPS, BCOP

Evaluating clinical data to work with oncologists to author pathways that positively impact patient lives is complicated work, and our senior director of pharmacy, therapeutics and pathways, Lisa Raff, has the credentials to thrive in the complexity.

In the latest Employee Q&A Spotlight, get to know the Illinois-native to learn how she uses her experience to work with physicians to solve complex problems.

Tell us about yourself and how your work supports OneOncology partner practices?
I received my Doctor of Pharmacy from Drake University and completed my pharmacy practice and management residency in Illinois.  I am a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist and recently completed my Master of Science in Pharmacy with a major in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a concentration in Personalized Medicine from the University of Florida.

I use my training to evaluate clinical data to help author pathways in partnership with our physician Disease Group leaders that we integrate into our clinical decision support tool that providers across the platform use to deliver the best care for their patients.

My focus on personalized medicine allows me to understand new targeted drug approvals and how they will affect the current treatment paradigms for various cancer types, giving me the know-how to answer clinical, reimbursement and operational questions practices face daily.

How do clinical pathways impact patient care?
Clinical pathways are incorporated into our clinical decision support tool, Flatiron Assist, which helps physicians identify the best treatment regimen for each patient’s cancer type. Oncology has a very dynamic treatment landscape that changes with FDA approvals, and our goal is to help our physician partners keep up with the constant changes and updates through our pathway development program. Ultimately, pathways improve patient care, and it’s an absolute privilege to know that my work helps care for patients. It motivates me to work harder.

What are your passions outside of OneOncology?
I am a big runner and love to spend time on long runs letting my mind unwind. I also love spending time with my husband and our daughter. We both love watching her compete in softball and basketball. We're really looking forward to basketball season now!!
