OneOncology: Driving Practice Growth Through Shared Services

There are numerous headwinds facing independent community practices, including continued payor pressure, hospital competition, and a changing pharmaceutical landscape. And yet, virtually every OneOncology affiliated practice experienced earnings growth in 2025.

This dichotomy is not a coincidence. OneOncology is increasingly making needed investments to alleviate the operational and financial burden for practices, improving patient access and lowering costs by enabling its partner practices to thrive. With over 700 team members dedicated to services ranging from revenue cycle management (RCM) to IT support and security, to data and analytics, to pharmacy support and clinical research, OneOncology directly offsets practice investments while advancing their capabilities, empowering practices to focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

RCM

OneOncology’s industry-leading RCM function consistently delivers superior performance metrics, with cost savings for each participating practice and a collection rate approaching 99 percent. The team has also navigated various challenges while safeguarding practices from unexpected disruptions. By leveraging technology and emerging AI-enabled strategies, OneOncology’s RCM team continues to drive continued year-over-year improvements in performance and cost savings.

Clinical Research

Through OneOncology’s Research Network, practices can access the infrastructure needed to participate in cutting-edge clinical trials without undertaking the financial and resource investment that has historically made research economically untenable. OneOncology’s 50+ person team takes on the numerous requirements across regulatory, quality, contracting, finance, and study operations while also making investments in technology such as CTMS, eBinder, and an in-house developed AI-enabled clinical trial matching tool. These highly sought after capabilities attract leading pharmaceutical sponsors in need of a network of sites with diverse patient populations and strong clinical reputations.

OneOncology’s approach offers leading capabilities without forcing practices to compromise their financials. Tennessee Oncology exemplifies this impact. In their first full year with OneOncology’s research network, Tennessee Oncology accrued approximately 200 patients to trial and performed better financially than they ever had under their prior research relationship. The practice expects their program to more than double in 2026 with OneOncology.

Consultative Pharmacy Services

OneOncology’s pharmacy team supports regimen development, evidence-based medication management, and the delivery of complex therapies — improving patient access, reducing financial burden, and strengthening practice operations.

In concert with clinical thought leaders, this team also maintains OneOncology’s ASCO-certified pathways that offer clinical decision support for over 26 different cancer types. This shared service is critical particularly with the rapid pace of change in the pharmacy landscape: including biosimilar, generic, and 505(b)2 approvals, IRA impacts, and therapeutic innovations that bring new side effects and administration profiles.

The Impact

Collectively, these shared services create a powerful value-creation engine. By reducing administrative overhead, improving technology capabilities, and enabling participation in high-value programs, OneOncology helps practices remain independent and financially strong. This model reflects OneOncology’s commitment to “skating where the puck is heading” — by investing in capabilities that deliver immediate economic value while positioning practices for long-term success in an increasingly complex healthcare landscape.
