Driving Clinical Innovation with Practice Partners

Clinical innovation takes many forms, and at OneOncology we are always trying to expand on the definition to better serve our partner practices, and ultimately patients, in delivering the best care possible close to home. For example, we have taken a very purposeful stance in accelerating access to novel therapies, such as CAR-T cell therapy, bispecific therapies, and theranostics in the communities we serve. Novel and advanced therapies such as these often take many years, if ever, before they move to a community setting. Our goal is to safely and cost-effectively expedite this move.

In 2025, we took several steps towards our goal of improving access to novel therapies to patients at OneOncology partner practices. One of those was recruiting expert physicians to provide the leadership and understanding needed to translate the complicated delivery of these therapies into the community setting: Dr. Mike Byrne as Medical Director of Cellular Therapy, and Dr. Todd Doyle as Chief of Radiation Oncology Officer. Their guidance has been instrumental in translating the delivery of these therapies from concept to implementation, and to stay ahead of the curve for what is next.

We’ve focused staff on developing resources and support to make the process of standing up these services structured and repeatable, as well. Recognizing the importance of multiple departments and functions in the successful delivery of these therapies, we have invested considerable time in building individual expertise and capabilities across analytics, RCM, managed care, accounting, pharmacy, drug contracting, compliance and legal, supply chain, and more. Coordination among these areas is a priority, ensuring seamless collaboration and cohesive operations. Armed with these resources and project management principles, we have rapidly moved from building the tools to implementation across many practices.

In 2026 and beyond, we will continue to evolve our services to make delivery of these therapies to patients easier, safer, faster, and more affordable. As more practices launch services, we learn from both successes and setbacks to better inform the next launch and ensure each practice learns from the others. We are formalizing forums for sharing ideas and lessons learned, both operationally and clinically. As scientific advancements introduce new therapies and modalities, OneOncology remains dedicated to leading the way in expanding access to cutting-edge treatments within the community setting.
